Tania and I went yard saling Saturday (as usual!) and here are the goodies I managed to cull from the debris that most of the sales consisted of. I don't remember how many sales we stopped at, but I think most of these goodies came from 3 or 4 only. The first one we stopped at was the best! I got the picnic basket, black plastic quilted-reversible card table cover, recipe box, decorated coffee can, vintage plastic fast food spoons & raggedy ann cake pan all there.
The apron hanging on the chair and the pretty hot pad were from a free box at another sale. Well, the apron was in the free box and when I asked the price of the hot pad, she said I could
have it!
I love the West Bend cake cover. I've always been partial to copper, even tho this is faux copper. The recipe box is from Avon. It originally came with orange shaped soaps inside. The Raggedy Ann cake form is Wilton from 1971.
The black card table cover is quilted plastic and reversible. The pretty floral corner you can see is the reverse side. The various plastic spoons from fast food restaurants were in a bag full of plastic spoons that were inside the picnic basket. There was also a set of Melmac dinnerware inside the basket! Forgot to get a picture of that. It isn't the prettiest--avacado green mostly. The litle kissing angels, made in Korea, and the chicken plaque were from another sale. Too cute!
As for the basket---I needed this like a hole in the head! As you can see in the background of a couple of these pictures, I have several of them! And there are more that didn't get in the pictures. BUT---it was only 50¢!!! How could I pass up a deal like that?!
Another rather cockeyed view of some of some of the goodies.
Tania also went home with armsfull of treasures, so all in all, it was a very productive day, even tho we drove past sale after sale without even stopping. You can usually just tell if they're worth the effort. And since the temperature was rapidly rising into the high 90's, you have to pick your "battles"!
