The Burlap Revolution!

I'm a little slow getting around to talking about the antique show Tania and I went to last Saturday (not yesterday---a week ago!) . But I have a few minutes now so here goes------- Tania came to my house about 7:00 A.M. 7:00 is the new 6:30 A.M. in Tania's estimation! LOL! But it was early enough. We set out for the 3-1/2 hour trip to Snohomish, Wa. The last few years they've been having an outdoor antique show in the old downtown area. There are several antique shops there as well as gift shops & boutiques. It's a fun place to spend a day. And even more fun when they have the 3 blocks of downtown barricaded and people selling their wares in the middle of the street!

The weather was a little "iffy"--it tried to rain on the parade. But finally it got over that and was a pretty decent day. At least heat wasn't an issue! I wore capris and flip-flops and my toes got a little chilly!

There were lots of booths full of charming vintage/retro goodies. We saw several cute things people had created that make you think "why didn't I think of that?!".

Lots of pretty plants everyplace! Snohomish is on the wet side of Washington state and everything is always so green and lush over there.

But the thing that really caught my eye was how many uses we saw for burlap!
Burlap here:

Burlap there:

Burlap everywhere! This is the year of burlap! It's pretty cool looking. I actually have more pictures, I think, but Blogger is giving me fits at the moment, so I'm going to give it up. Maybe I'll be able to add more pictures later.

I hope everyone's having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We just had a little downpour, but now it looks like the sun might make an appearance. Fortunately we took flowers to the cemetery earlier.
